Brisket deli style for Jewish Holidays

it is now 3 weeks after the hurricane party and it is what it is. we didn't know we would live througt the largest flood surge in 100 year history or something like that. Hurricane Sandy, the super storm, as she will be known as, uncovered the flaws in LIPA's flawed infistructure.  We lost power, 3 cars, and the main level of our house. Marks business was flooded out  and he finally got it together to clear out his junk.  At first I was desperate and my brother gave me money to fix my house. Then FEMA put money in my account. Geico gave me money for my car and now Mark thinks he can get some money from SBA or at least a low interest loan to put his business back together. So things are looking up.

I cooked a celebratory meal:

been drinking whisky
Butternut squash soup
Rib roast smothered in sliced onions, roasted with red potatoes & brussel sprouts
Turkey with stuffing, celery onion parsley carrots

panattone bread pudding
amaretto cordial
