Wedding Gift Story

i went to a hallies wedding 2 weeks ago. it was lovely but as luck would have it the suzanne needed advice and she took mine. now i have promised myself i would never give advice again, but after a few brunch screwdrivers i screwed up. it seems one of her guests who is a friend for many years didnt give a gift. i sat at her table and overheard her discussing how she would never order off a registry, my response was, "then you dont get people what they want.' i didnt realize she ment that she hadnt given a gift to that wedding but according to suzanne she didnt think she gave a gift. according to emily post you have 1 year to give a gift( note to self look that up). suzanne was going to have her husband handle asking the husband about the gift. i said simply call her up and say you think you lost the gift and your sorry. but of course suzanne overdid it with explaination about how that happened at her sisters wedding. jane probably knows that she didnt give a gift yet and she is just lying so the whole thing instead of being cool has turned into a hot painful embarresment. i have given advice on other occasions that turned painfully wrong.
